Lu Xinjian is the first artist to take up residency at The Chapel @ Fabien Fryns located at Alcuzcuz in Southern Spain. Organised and curated by Fabien Fryns, with whom Lu Xinjian has been working since 2010, the artist first researched Andalucia on the internet from his home in Shanghai and made a selection of the most well-known and beautiful areas, including Marbella, Malaga, Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada.

For his first solo exhibition in Spain, Lu Xinjian (China, born 1977) was inspired to create works from his latests Reflections series as well as his original City DNA series, which shows a bird’s eye view capturing the city's DNA with his language of line, form and colour drawn from his personal experience.
